Heartburn No More™ - Hoplink Instructions
After you have signed up with clickbank to generate your affiliate account, you are ready to start promoting and marketing the book.
The process of marketing the Heartburn No More ebook is simple. All you need to do is place your special referral links on your webpages or in your e-zine and send traffic to the Heartburn No More.Com website. These special links are called “clickbank hoplinks” and through them Clickbank keeps track of the traffic you send to Heartburn No More.com and gives you credit for the e-book sales you generate.
This is why it is so important to create your hoplinks correctly. Using the wrong hoplink, you will not get credit for the sales that you generate and all your efforts will be in vain.
To create your hoplink correctly simply follow these steps:
1) The standard clickbank hoplink format is:
http://xxxxxxx.vendor.hop.clickbank.net
martin7 is my vendor name (our product ID), so that looks like this:
http://xxxxxxx.martin7.hop.clickbank.net
2) So now, all you have to do is insert YOUR clickbank affiliate nickname in the place where the xxxxxxx are located
For example, if your affiliate nickname is mike33 (this is just an example. Always use YOUR nickname), then the hoplink would look like this:
http://mike33.martin7.hop.clickbank.net
That's all there is to it. When someone clicks through YOUR hoplink, they are redirected to www.heartburnnomore.com and a small tracking file also called a “cookie” is dropped onto the computer of the visitor. This "marks" that visitor as coming from your link and he or she buys the program you’ll be credited for the sale.
Note about clickbank cookies: Clickbank uses 60 day cookies (tracking files that are dropped onto the visitor’s computer), so if the people you send to Heartburn No More.com purchase that day or if they return any time within the next 60 days, you will get the commission for the sale (currently 64% commission rate of net sale, or approximately $27 U.S.).
Last note: It has been tested and proven that people who realize they are sent through an affiliate or referral link by someone who gets a commission from their sales, their guards come up and they are less likely to buy. Therefore, to prevent such a scenario, most experienced affiliate marketers hide their affiliate hoplink using a process called “link cloaking”. More about the link cloaking procedure will be discussed later on.
